My First Train Trip...Caiden's Too!

Last week, Mommy, Caiden & I drove up to Northridge to go on a field trip with "Mormor's Kids" (her 1st grade class!) We met them at the train station in Van Nuys but had to sit on the school bus for about 45 minutes because the train was delayed! It was freezing and really windy that day so we sat on the bus until the train came!

We boarded the Amtrak and rode down to Union Station in Los Angeles.

Riding the subway

This is Fire Station #1...the first fire station in LA.

This is one of the original firetrucks that they restored...we weren't allowed to touch anything but the nice man told us some of the history. Horses used to live in the back of this station and they were trained to run towards fire. When the bell would go off, the firemen would get the horses out of the stable and strap them to the front of this truck and they would go find the fire! All of the children thought this place was so cool!!
This is the Adobe House...the oldest standing house in Los Angeles!
We also went to a fun museum but we didn't take pictures. After eating lunch in the Union Station plaza, we got back on the train and went back to Northridge. It was a fun day!!
